It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" John Thoma, who departed this life on May 2, 2025, at the age of 82. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Cathedral in Sioux City. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with 4:30 pm rosary and 7:00 pm vigil at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Trinity Heights in Bob's name.
Bob lived a life characterized by passion, humor, and devotion to his faith and family. As an avid outdoorsman and technology enthusiast, he approached life with curiosity and zest that inspired those around him.
Throughout his professional life, Bob worked as a dedicated salesman, property inspector, and campground host. His strong work ethic and genuine care for others earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Bob was a loving husband to Charlotte Ann Thoma (Bibow), whom he married on December 4, 1993, at the Cathedral in Sioux City. He also maintained a close friendship with his ex-wife Sharon Karrer, demonstrating his commitment to family bonds throughout his life. He was a devoted father to his daughters Kris Beaumier, Rhonda Foote (Jeff Cutler), and the late Kelli Thoma; and his son Shane Corbett. Bob was also a caring stepfather to Christine Clay, Rhonda Brink, Martha McLaughlin, Shelly Breyfogle, Cindy Jackson, Aaron Clay, Adam Clay, and Anthony Clay. His love extended to his 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Outside of his professional life, Bob was passionate about boating, camping, hiking, aviation, and HAM radio operation. His enthusiasm for technology and photography allowed him to capture and share beautiful moments with loved ones. Those who knew him well will remember his playful sense of humor and his ability to bring joy to any situation. His faith as a devout Catholic guided his life and relationships.
Bob is survived by his wife Charlotte, his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kelli Thoma, his brother Jerry, his sister Carol, his son-in-law Paul Beaumier, and his parents Mary "Mimi" Thoma and Bob "Bomp" Thoma.
Bob's warm presence, joyful spirit, and passionate approach to life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, family devotion, and zest for adventure will continue to inspire us all.
