Robert “Bob” Duane Morfitt, 88 of Sioux City, IA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 3, 2024.

A celebration of his life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City, IA with Neil Peck officiating. A lunch will be served at the church following the Celebration Service with an internment for family and friends at the Worthing Cemetery in Worthing, SD at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Bob was born on October 23, 1935 in Osceola County IA, the son of Lloyd and Edna (Johnson) Morfitt. He was raised in Round Lake, MN where he graduated from Round Lake High School in 1953. Bob’s working career began in his hometown with the Tuthill Lumber Company. Bob entered the U.S. Army and served in the Artillery Division, Guided Missile Training at Fort Bliss, TX and Guided Missile Sight in the Seattle, WA area from March 1955 to March 1957. Following discharge Bob secured management employment at the Tuthill Lumber Company in Worthing, SD. Here he met and married Geraldine “Geri” Kluin, his wife of 63 years in October 1960. They remained in Worthing until the Tuthill Lumber Co chain disbanded. Bob then joined Consumer Lumber Company in 1962 in the Sioux Falls, SD location. Upon leaving Consumer Lumber, he joined the Jordan Millwork Company in 1965. While in Sioux Falls, one son Jay Robert was born to this union. Jordan Millwork transferred Bob to Sioux City, IA in January 1966. He was the Assistant Office Manager for 20 years until Jordan Millwork closed the Sioux City location in 1985. A series of short- term employment opportunities followed. The remaining and rewarding years of his career were in sales with Independent Millwork, Anderson Corporation and finally Fargo Paint and Glass. Bob’s territory covered parts of IA, NE, and SD. All of his 52 working years he promoted Anderson windows. Bob was commonly referred to as “The Window Man” having so many years of Anderson window knowledge. He was recognized as “Salesman of the Year” in 1993 for both the states of IA and NE. Bob retired in 2004 from full time employment while continuing with volunteer work. He was also a part-time courtesy driver for Woodhouse Auto Family. Bob was a member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church, Wesley United Methodist Church and currently a member of First United Methodist Church all while holding administrative positions of service. 

Survivors include his wife Geri; one son Jay and his wife Pamela (Duncan) Morfitt of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandsons Duncan Morfitt, his wife Rachel (Rappe) Morfitt and great granddaughter Parker Rae Morfitt of Chicago, IL and Creighton Morfitt and his wife Payton (Douglass) Morfitt of Spokane, WA; his special needs brother Steven Morfitt of Marshall, MN; brother Larry Morfitt and his wife Florence Morfitt of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Edna Morfitt; brothers Don Morfitt and Lloyd Morfitt; sisters Mary Ahlers and Donna Lubben; brother-in-law LeRoy Lubben; and sister-in-law Gray Darden. 

Bob’s whole life revolved around his faith that anchored his soul with peace and tranquility to meet the challenges of life. His love of family was paramount. Bob was devoted to his wife Geri and had an indescribable love for his son Jay. He had the best daughter-in-law and two awesome grandsons. Anyone brought into the family would be immediately welcomed with open arms and loved!! Bob lovingly assumed legal guardianship for his special needs brother Steve for over 50 years. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to First United Methodist Church, Wounded Warriors or Samaritan’s Purse.
