At loss for words, Robert Dale Fox (Bob) was reunited with his wife Donna in heaven on Friday evening, February 12, 2021. He passed away with his children by his side at the Sunrise Retirement Home. A private funeral will be held at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Father Dan Rupp officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Bob was born August 22, 1931 in Yankton, S.D. the son of John Henry Fox and Myrtle Hoffman. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Kleinschmidt on February 15, 1950. That unity produced 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Donna after 61 years of marriage as well as his parents and 7 sisters and 1 brother.
Bob retired from Interbake Foods (originally named Johnson Biscuit Company) September 1, 1991 at the age of 60 after working for them for approximately 40 years. Bob was very instrumental in the development of the famous Devilsfood cookie: a cookie that many of his children plucked fresh off the trolley while still warm.
At Interbake Foods he was very instrumental in the building of the new cookie factory; Interbake Foods located in North Sioux City, S.D. At that time, he was also recognized as the Chief Plant Engineer, quite an accomplishment for a man growing up in S.D. and spending a lot of his time in “Fox Creek” when he should have been attending school. In 1974 Bob received a letter from President Johnson commending him on his safety record at the plant. After retirement, Bob enjoyed ushering at the Orpheum Theater, various concerts, hockey and football games at the Sioux City Auditorium.
He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always saying that the “best things in life are free”; something we should all remember because at the end of the day, it is all about family.
Those left to honor his memory include his 5 children: Robert Michael Fox and wife Penny of Sioux City, Richard John Fox and his wife Echo of Papillion, NE., Jeanne Ann Carstens and her husband Dean of Aurora, NE. Jeffrey Dale Fox and his wife Laurie of Polk City, IA., and John Henry Fox and his wife Roni of Sioux City, IA.
18 Grandchildren: Chris and Christina Fox, Patrick Fox and Candy Smith, Cody Fannon, Paige and Kyle Peck, Shelby Fox, Britney and Adam Wheeler, Kristina and Patrick Kirwin, Rob and Cori Wine, Stacy and David Wasson, Carrie and Kyle Peterson, Lori and Daniel Witte, David and Mallory Carstens, Michaeline and Adam Stringer, Jolie Lowary and Steve Oldfather, Andrew and Sarah Fox, Rachel (Daniel) Wenzel, Alex Fox, Rebecca Fox, as well as 38 Great Grandchildren.

The Fox Family extends its gratitude to the Sunrise Retirement Center as he developed many friends amongst the staff and fellow retirement friends.
In addition, a special thanks to Sandy Pickens, Service Navigator with the Connections Area Agency on Aging as she has been a wonderful friend to Bob and his family.
