Robert J. Bracht, 88 of Sioux City died Thursday, March 16, 2023. Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Holy Cross Parish St. Michael. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Bob was born the son of Frank and Caroline (Eichenseer) Bracht on March 20, 1934 in Hartington, Nebraska. He graduated from Heelan High School in Sioux City.
He married Ella L. “Snooks” Hamilton on June 27, 1958 in Sioux City. Bob drove school bus for several different schools. He also was a route man for Roberts Dairy and worked for Brothers Box Co. over the years.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was a huge sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Cubs, and Notre Dame football. He also loved to play golf.
Bob is survived by six children, Kimberly (Tim) Daugherty of Sioux City, Michael (Sheila) Bracht of McCook Lake, S.D., Steven (Darlene) Bracht of Sioux City, Renae (David) Yockey of Sioux City and Richard Bracht and Jayme Bracht, both of Sioux City; siblings, Donna Coulson, Ron (Carol Tonne) Bracht, Carol (Ron) Hegarty, Larry (Nina) Bracht, Mary Jo Bracht; grandchildren, Dawn (Adam) Beckwith, Patrick (Courtney) Daugherty, Dianna (Brent) Tehven, Tony (Ashley) Bracht, Kari (Corey) Tendal, Nicole (Alex) Thompson, Cassie (Skyler) Beller, Haley Bracht, and Zoey Yockey; step-grandson, Jacob Haefs; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Snooks; great granddaughter, Ella Tehven; brother-in-law, Don Coulson; and sister-in-law, Linda Bracht.
