Richard Lee McArthur, 90, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place and no local services will be held at this time.

Richard was born the son of Harold and Charotte (Dermit) McArthur on November 5, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Central High School and went on to study at Wayne State College. Richard married Patti (Docken) McArthur in 1972. He worked at McArthur Sheet Metal until retirement.

Richard took pride in being a father and enjoyed spending time with his children. He enjoyed watching the television shows Gunsmoke and Jeopardy. After retirement he enjoyed cruising around town sightseeing. Richard often donated to charities including Saint Jude, ASPCA, and the Siouxland Humane Society.

He is survived by his daughter Rhonda McArthur, stepdaughter Vicki Hughes, and brother Tom McArthur.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry McArthur, and wife Patti.
