Rhonda “Jodi” Jodell Vondrak, 58 of Hinton, passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 in one of her favorite places doing one of her favorite activities, vacationing in the Black Hills. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hinton Community Center on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. with a tribute and prayer beginning at 3:00 P.M.
Jodi was born March 4, 1966, to Richard and Grace (Otten) Parrish. She attended Westfield Schools before transferring to Hinton, where she met and married Todd Garthright. They moved to Wayne, NE to raise their children, Krista and Amanda. Jodi moved to Laurel, NE spending many years together with Jerry Wiemers and joining him trucking. Jodi then moved to Wayne where she spent time with her girlfriends, even sprucing up a house with some. It was during this time in 2006 that Jodi reconnected with high school friend, Richard “Dick” Vondrak. The two married in April 2011 and lived in Hinton, IA.
Jodi and Dick enjoyed their time traveling and were routine attendees of the Sturgis Rally. They also loved to host friends and family for their well-known “shed parties”.
Jodi was known to stop at all garage sales and rummage sales. She was also a frequent visitor of Goodwill where she always found something for the grandkids or nieces and nephews. And was routinely late for events due to her frequent stops.
But most of all, Jodi loved all the time spent with her children and grandbabies. She was skilled in making the most routine of activities incredibly special for them.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please donate to your favorite charity or do something nice for someone close to you.
Jodi will forever be missed by her husband, Richard Vondrak; children, Krista (Jason) Roeber, Amanda (Nate Hampsmire) Garthright, Stephanie (Craig) Cuninghame, Jenny (Taylor) Graves, and Ryan (Karmen Knipfer) Vondrak; grandchildren, Janessa, Jackson, Memphis, Taysom, Eisley, Calvin, Bristol, Connell, Rogan and Mateo; brothers, Jeff (Tracy) Parrish and Jim Parrish; sister, Deb (Charles) Peck; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Grace Parrish.
