Renate Olga Anna Larson

   Renate Olga Anna Larson of Sioux City, Iowa passed on Wednesday August 24, 2022, at Heritage Northern Hills. She lived a life of 87 years and passed from long term illness.

   Services will be at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Hamilton Blvd at 10 AM Saturday September 3, 2022, with burial to follow. Visitation and prayer service will be at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Friday September 2, 2022, with family present from 6 to 8 PM and service at 7 PM with Pastor Scott Squires. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park next to her husband Carl Larson.

   Renate Edelmann was born in Heilbronn Germany on February 7, 1935, to Erwin and Olga (Ultzhofer) Edelmann. She grew up during WWII and survived the horrors of war.

   She married Carl Larson on January 15, 1955, in Heilbronn, Germany. Carl was in the Army, and came to the United State in 1956. Carl Passed on September 7, 2006.

   She was a long-time employee at Alf’s Manufacturing as an instructor and retired from Alf’s when they moved out of the Country. She also worked at Sioux City Schools as a lunch lady.

   She was born Lutheran but regularly attended Crescent Park United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Iowa. She loved to sew and play the accordion and piano. She loved company and had many friends. She made the best German food! She loved her pets Mitzi, Muffin, Charlie, and Me-me.

   Survivors are daughter Linda Hoffman (Gene) of Grand Island, Nebraska, two grandsons, Brian, and Matthew (Allison), and one great granddaughter (Madeline). Son Bob Larson (Marian), a grandson Daniel (Leslie) and granddaughter Deborah (Brian), and three great grandchildren, Rose, Jasmine and Stephen.

   She was preceded in death by her Husband Carl, sisters Irene and Olga, brother Horst, her mother Olga Edelmann and father Erwin Edelmann.
