Randy Ray Ogle

Randy Ray Ogle, 67 of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at a local hospital comforted by family.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.  A private family interment will be held at a later date.  Visitation, with the family present, will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com

Randy was born to Wayne and Blanche Ogle on October 18, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa. He went to West, loved to play sports as much as he could, graduating in 1974. Randy was a blue collar, lifelong Siouxlander who dedicated himself to his work.

Under that blue collar he understood the need for unions to the point he was a union rep for Aalfs in the ’80. Randy’s passion for sports showed with his love for anything Hawkeyes, Yankees, or Packers, in that order.

Survivors include his son, Jeremy R. Ogle and grandchild, Sebastian R. Ogle of Sioux City, brother, Dick (Emily) Ogle of Hinton, his nieces, Sarah Ogle and Emily Ogle of Sioux City, and his best friend Rod (LeAnn) Hanson

Gone before him were his parents and sister-in-law, Jill Ogle; 5 uncles Lyle, Dean, Loren, Max, Billy Callendar; and two aunts Ruby and Opal; and cousin Sharon Callendar.

Over the past year, Randy’s health and diabetes took over most of the things he loved in life. Fighting until the end he took his final breaths surrounded by his family in peace.
