Randall D. "Randy" Gruenzner

Randall D. “Randy” Gruenzner, 65, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at a local care facility. Private Family Services will be held. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

 

Randy was born on August 20, 1956 in Windom, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Shirley Gruenzner. He attended special education classes, and graduated from East High Pupil Service Center. Randy was enrolled at WACO, where he worked many projects such as glass crushing, microfilming, and Styrofoam corners for several businesses.

 

He was a member of Dundee Dance Club for special adults, a member of Disabled Rollers Bowling League, and also participated in the Special Olympics for many years.

 

Randy will be remembered for his love of everyone he met. He loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers football.

 

Left to cherish his memory include his sister and her husband, Deb and Rick Homan of Omaha, NE; three nephews: Travis Homan, Jared Homan and his fiancé Katie Andersen, and Corey Homan and his wife Jennifer.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Gruenzner; and by his grandparents.
