She was born on September 24, 1955, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ruth (Van Heukelom) Van Maanen.

Rachel had a deep passion for music which she shared generously with others. Graduating from Rock Valley High School and Northwestern with a bachelor of art degree, Rachel dedicated her career to teaching music. With expertise in guitar, voice, and piano, she touched the lives of numerous students through her work as a music teacher and substitute teacher. Her legacy also extends to the community through the music lessons she provided via Mid Bell.

Described as religious, positive, and upbeat, Rachel's unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to all who knew her. She found solace and joy in her involvement at Sunnybrook Community Church and found fulfillment in volunteering at the Hope Center.  Rachel was such a loving, thoughtful, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her family very much.

Rachel leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Among those who mourn her loss are her husband David Clover; children: Joseph Clover of Sioux City and Heather Clover-Allen (Dontae) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Eli, Dylanee, Paislee, Ruthee, Jamari, Damani, and Amontae; siblings: Randy Van Maanen, Sandra Butterfield, Belinda (Steve) Humphrey, Doris (Jeff) Gregg, Terry (Sue) Van Maanen, Lorna Mundy, and Sally (Tim) Mills.

In the wake of Rachel's passing are her parents John and Ruth Van Maanen; sister-in-law Luana Van Maanen; and brother-in-laws Wally Butterfield and Ray Mundy. Their lives were touched by Rachel's kindness and love throughout the years.

May she rest in peace knowing the profound impact she has left on this world through her music and unwavering faith.
