Peggy Kamm

Mildred Elaine Kamm, fondly known as Peggy, passed away peacefully at her residence in Dakota Dunes, SD, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on January 21, 1932, in Hawarden, IA, she was the daughter of Robert Emmett and Loretta (Smith) Lynott. Peggy grew up in Sioux City, where she attended Catholic Schools and proudly graduated from East High School.

On July 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert L. "Bob" Kamm in Bangor, ME, while he was serving in the military. This union was blessed with five children.

Peggy dedicated much of her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After raising her children, Peggy worked at the Sioux City Journal. Throughout her life, she maintained numerous friendships, staying in touch with many of her high school friends.

Peggy and Bob enjoyed their retirement years together, engaging in activities they loved, including golfing, fishing, R.V. trips, and wintering in Texas.

She is survived by her children: Debby (Dennis) Dashner, Michael (Gisele) Kamm, Kathy (Rick) Schmidt, Vincent (Kelly) Kamm, and Jennifer (Shane) Brainerd; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen O'Harrow.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Kamm; grandson, Shane Patrick Brainerd; brother, Robert (Jean) Lynott; and her brother-in-law, Gordon O'Harrow.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Peggy's life at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, IA. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
