Peggy M. George, born on July 20, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, passed away on May 8, 2026, at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home. She was a cherished member of her community, remembered for her gentle spirit and quiet strength.

Throughout her life, Peggy demonstrated a deep commitment to the values she held dear and touched the lives of those around her with kindness and grace. Though she preferred a life away from the spotlight, her warmth and steadfast nature were a source of comfort and inspiration to many. 

She loved to gamble, get her nails and hair done and shop for great deals. She enjoyed bingo and going to Pizza Ranch.

Peggy's journey took her from the welcoming environs of Iowa City to the supportive care of her dear friends Kala and Cheryl, with whom she spent her final days embraced by compassion and love. She will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know her, as someone who lived her life with dignity and quiet courage.

Her memory will remain a lasting testament to her character and the quiet, enduring impact she made in this world. Peggy M. George’s legacy is one of resilience and heartfelt simplicity, qualities that will continue to inspire those who remember her.

Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter Laura, with whom she made her home. They did everything together including spending days just enjoying life and each other's company.
