Paul "Paulie" B. Felecia

   Paul Benjamin “Paulie” Felecia, 80, of Sioux City, IA passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his residence.

   A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Elks Lodge in Sioux City starting at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.

   Paul Benjamin, the son of Benjamin Peter and Victoria (Shields) Felecia, was born November 29, 1941 in Pierre, SD. During Paul’s childhood years, his family lived in Pierre then moved to Gettysburg, SD and in 1955 moved to Rapid City, SD where he graduated from Rapid City High School. On August 2, 1958, he enlisted in the National Guard and served until March 1, 1962 when he transferred to the U.S. Army. He graduated from the U.S. Army Training Center and during this time he was qualified as a sharp shooter on the rifle, an expert on the carbine, and qualified as a missile launcher through his military training. Paul served his country until his honorable discharge on April 5, 1962.

   On April 7, 1962, Paul was united in marriage to Mary Lou (Gann) Felecia in Tifton, GA. This union was blessed with four daughters. Paul and Mary Lou lived in Georgia until moving to Sioux City in 1971. He attended and graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 1973. Throughout his career, Paul worked as a heavy-duty mechanic and heavy-duty operator until his retirement in 2003.

   Paul’s hobbies included fishing, playing cards, and playing pool. He was a member of The American Legion.

   He is survived by his four daughters: Regina Jones of Des Moines, IA, Paulina (Luis) Vega of Sioux City, IA, Martia (Jerry) Rodriguez of Des Moines, IA, and Amorettea Felecia of Sioux City, IA; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, William Felecia of Sioux City, IA; and one sister, Bonnie Felecia of Sioux City, IA.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou Felecia; and one sister, Mary Ann Felecia.
