Patrick Michael Boyle

May 5, 1950 — August 3, 2024

Jackson, Nebraska

Patrick Michael Boyle, 74, of Jackson, NE, passed away on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 after a battle with GBM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson, NE at 10:00am, Friday, August 9th, 2024. A burial ceremony will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, in Sioux City, IA.

Patrick was born May 5th, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of Albert and Joanna (Reynolds) Boyle who taught and instilled the value of a hard work ethic, and the value of a Catholic education. Patrick attended many schools throughout the Sioux City area and attended Heelan High School.

Patrick was raised on the family farms in and around various parts of Siouxland. Days were filled with chores and school. After farm chores, he loved to hunt and fish.

On October 12th, 1968, Patrick and Cheryl Garner were married in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union, four children were born.

In 1968, Patrick fulfilled his apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union, Local 948 in Sioux City, IA. He was a proud union member for 54 years. Patrick worked as a carpenter and millwright for the next 50+ years and traveled across the country to provide for his family, working at various power plants and making many lasting friendships. He was an apprentice instructor for the union and taught many budding students the craft.

Patrick was always up before the sun; would already have his day planned as to what project was going to be accomplished. His favorite parts of the day were sunrise and sunset, always saying that those times provided ‘the most beautiful light’. In his later years, he loved camping, and traveling along the unbeaten path.

Patrick loved his family and close friends. He would be there for anyone who needed help or guidance with work on projects. He was always there to lend his advice and opinion. Patrick was a lover of music and concerts. He always wanted to change the world in a better way. All that knew him and met him will truly miss what a wonderful man he was and will always keep him in their memory. Patrick is that beautiful soul of a person that one rarely finds on this earth.
