Pat was born October 9, 1935 to Thomas A and Elizabeth “Pearl” Null in Whiting, Iowa. Pat was the youngest of ten children growing up in a farming family. She received her education from Westfield IA school(s), then later moving to Sioux City and graduating from Central High School in 1954.

Pat married Clyde V Hoffman on January 26, 1957; moved to Clyde’s 40-acre farm in rural North Sioux City where she became a stay-at-home mom, raising 4 kids there then moving to her current residence on the farm they purchased together and adding 3 more kids.

After most of the kids were out of the home, Pat went to work at Sodrac Park until it’s closing and then for the Jefferson High School lunch program and later at Dakota Valley for Lunchtime Solutions. Pat loved to cook for her family and friends having many holidays, card/birthday parties and just for fun gatherings. Pat was a caretaker for Clyde, her daughter’s Sheryl & Janet along with her brother’s Aaron and Merlin until their passing. During this time, she also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with her friends at Sun Valley and the Streeter Gang. When not busy you may also have found her doing a bit of gambling near and far with her friends and family. She thoroughly enjoyed going to her kid’s & grandchildren’s sporting events and later her great grandchildren’s events. Pat enjoyed traveling as a family when the kids were younger and later visiting out of state family near and far and spending time with her friend, Vernice Riggs of Marshall MO. She was always up for a car ride and looked forward to them.
