Pamela S. Brown

June 14, 1950 — January 28, 2023

Pamela Sue (Harrison) Brown, 72, of Sioux City, IA passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at her residence in Sioux City surrounded by her family.  A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.  Interment will be at a later date.  Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com

Pam was born on June 14, 1950 in Carroll, IA, the fifth of seven daughters to Ralph A. “Jiggs” Harrison and Mary Catherine Loew.  She moved to Sioux City with her family in 1957 and attended Blessed Sacrament, graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1968, and attended Briar Cliff College.  She had numerous employment opportunities in Siouxland and loved to meet new people, get to know them, and help them.  However, her greatest joy was being a stay-at-home mom to her precious sons Sam and Ben and attending and volunteering at their school activities, sporting events, and musical and theatrical productions.

Pam was a kind soul, generous and caring, and a spiritually strong woman who loved to sing, dance, and laugh.  Her grandchildren filled her heart and soul with joy.  Later in life, Pam discovered a passion for martial arts, beginning with the practice of tai chi and later achieving the rank of black belt in tae kwon do.

Survivors include her son and wife Sam and Becky Brown of Houston, TX and their children Jeremy and Molly, her “man friend” Ron Wermes of Sioux City, IA, her sister and husband Mary Cae and Neil Duffy, her life sister Barb Shell of Omaha, NE, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son Benjamin, her parents, and her sisters Betty Lou Fischer of Sioux City, Donna Mae Carda of Fairbanks, AK, and Nancy Harrison of Sioux City.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

“Every person you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.  Be kind.  Always.”  -Robin Williams.
