Orvan A. Ulven

  Orvan A. Ulven, 87, of Sioux City and formerly of Soldier, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at a local care facility. Per his wishes, private family services will be held.   Orvan was born on September 19, 1935 in Soldier, Iowa, to Harold and Mary (Hanson) Ulven. He grew up on the family farm and was a lifelong resident of Soldier. He later took over the farming operations while raising his four children.

  Survivors include his children: Cari Kennedy (Scott) of Charlotte, NC; Kelli McGuire (Bill) of Williamsburg, IA; Brian Ulven (Karen) of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and Brent Ulven (Denise) of Daytona, FL; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and his three siblings.
