Norman Lynn Williams, 80, of Sioux City, IA formerly of rural Bronson passed away at home on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Born on September 22, 1944, in Sioux City, he was the son of Aaron and Marion (Allen) Williams. Growing up on a farm near Bronson, Norman developed a profound passion for agriculture that would define his life's work.

Norman dedicated his career to farming in the Bronson area, where he raised row crops, cattle, hogs, and sheep. His commitment to farming was not merely a profession; it was a vocation that he embraced wholeheartedly. Norman was also a proud graduate of the last graduating class of Bronson High School in 1962, a fact that he held dear throughout his life.

Norman was united in marriage to Lela (Krumwiede) on January 13, 1968, in Homer, NE. To this union of 44 years, they were blessed with four children.

Beyond his vocational pursuits, Norman was a man of service, known for his kind smile, caring nature, and selflessness. He devoted his time to coaching youth sports and actively participated in his church, Peace Reformed. In addition, Norman helped with the Woodbury County Pork Producers and 4H activities.

Throughout his life, Norman enjoyed engaging in various hobbies, including playing slow pitch softball, bowling and always had a soft heart for pets. He served in the United States Army National Guard.

Family was the cornerstone of Norman's life, and he delighted in spending time with them, especially attending the activities of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Sheri Counterman of Sioux Falls, SD, Shane (Angela) Williams of Bronson, IA, Shanda Murphy of Springdale, AR, and Shauna (Jason) Yockey of Hornick, IA; eight grandchildren: Skyler (Courtney) Counterman, Brittany Counterman, Cassandra Counterman, Cody Williams, Ashley (Colin) Bolkema, Casey Williams, Dakota Williams, and Haley Williams; four great-grandchildren: Cordell Counterman, Grayson Bolkema, Cooper Bolkema, and Tessa Bolkema, as well as one sister, Carolyn King.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Lela, who passed away on August 16, 2012, and his son-in-law, Brian Murphy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Peace Reformed Church, located at 4100 Outer Dr N, Sioux City, IA. The funeral service will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM, also at Peace Reformed Church. Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
