Nicole Ann "Nikki" Johnson

  Nicole Ann “Nikki” Johnson, 41, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at an Omaha, Nebraska, hospital following a battle with lung cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.   Nikki was born on July 17, 1982 in Sioux City to Juli Johnson and Scott Jeffords. She was a Sioux City resident throughout her life, and graduated from East High. She had been a resident of Courage Homes in Sioux City since 1991.

  She was employed at the Mid-Step Services main office work center for many years.

  Nikki had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by so many. She was a strong-willed woman who liked to joke, give high fives, and was full of mischief! She enjoyed singing, dancing, playing ball, reading books, and enjoying good food! She also had a love of butterflies.

  She will be greatly missed by all of her friends at Courage Homes and Mid-Step Services.

  She is survived by her mother, Juli Groen; brother, Dallas (Angie) Groen; nephews: Bentley and Dexter; niece, Alanna; uncles: Rick Johnson, Randy (Mary Ann) Johnson; aunt, Cheri Harder; uncle, Greg Harder, Sr.; aunt, Brenda Jones; many cousins; father, Scott Jeffords, and his five children.

  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dick Johnson; grandmother, Carol Culver; cousin, Peter Johnson; and step-mother, Julie Jeffords.

  Pallbearers for Nikki’s service will be Dallas Groen, Gregory Harder, Jr., Rick Johnson, Randy Johnson, Bentley Groen, Dexter Groen, and Darwin Boisen.
