Nancy Ann Clifford, 79 of Sergeant Bluff passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband and children on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 4, 2024 with Rosary at 4:30 P.M. and Vigil at 5:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 5, 2024 at Mater Dei Parish Nativity Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City.
Nancy was born the daughter of George and Amelia (Mayes) Breen on June 9, 1945 in Tampa, Florida. The family moved to Kansas City and then to Omaha, where she graduated from Holy Name High School in 1963. Nancy married Gary Clifford on November 9, 1968 in Omaha. Shortly after their marriage they made Sergeant Bluff their home.
She was a dedicated loving wife for over 55 years and was passionate about raising her 4 children with a deep faith in God. She adored her 9 grandchildren more than anything else. Everyone that knew her, loved her. Nancy enjoyed journaling, shopping, and tending to her flower garden. She also loved to travel with family and friends.
Nancy worked for Great West Casualty Company for 25 years until her retirement in 2012.
She was a longtime member of Nativity Church where she was active in the women’s guild.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Gary Clifford; children, Scott (Janie) Clifford, Craig Clifford, Tara (Adam) Chicoine, and Brent (Tiffany) Clifford; grandchildren, Sierra, Logan, Mackenzie, Peyton, Kaitlynn, Ashlyn, Quinten, Ellie, and Reygan; and siblings, Jim (Louise) Breen, Patti Ottens, Mike Breen, Terry (Karen) Breen, Mary Carr, and Gina Zinn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; angel baby, Paul David Clifford; and brothers-in-law, Gary Ottens and Steve Zinn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Croix Hospice Foundation of Sioux City.
