Nancy Lynne Bartels

Nancy Lynne Bartels, 86, of Hubbard, NE, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. 

Nancy was born the daughter of Vernon and Juanita (Knowles) Myers on January 7, 1938, in Belleville, IL. Her family moved to Sioux City where she graduated from East High School in 1955. Nancy married Roger Bartels on October 27, 1956, in Sioux City, IA. They made their home on the family farm outside of Hubbard, NE, and enjoyed almost 67 years together. 

Nancy enjoyed working as an Office Manager/Bookkeeper for Bartels Ag, Beermann Bros. Dehy, and Magic Carpet.

She enjoyed singing, golfing, gardening, boating, and snow skiing. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. Nancy was a long-time member of Salem Lutheran Church, where she was the choir director for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, PEO Chapter GX, and a charter member of the Craft and Culture Club of Dakota County. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, Roger Bartels of Sioux City, IA; children, Jeff Bartels of Hubbard, NE, and Cindy Cunningham of Loveland, CO; brother, Tom (Nancy) Myers of Green Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Jessica Cunningham, Dayna (Deric) Hoch, and Brooke Bartels; nephew, Michael (Peggy) Myers; and niece, Molly Myers (Janie Porsche). 

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Steve Bartels.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church, Dakota City, NE.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Pleasant View Care Center for their excellent care of Nancy during her stay there.
