Myrle John Beyeler

July 13, 1951 — October 19, 2022

Myrle John Beyeler, 71 of Jefferson, South Dakota, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the United Church of Christ in Newcastle, Nebraska with Father Kenny Hoesing (a nephew) officiating.  Burial will follow at the Newcastle Cemetery.   Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com  In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to the family for designation at a later date.  Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Myrle was born on July 13, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa to Sylvester and Ivy (Hanson) Beyeler.  He was the quarterback of the Newcastle High School 1967 Class D State football champions.  Myrle also participated in basketball and track in High School.  He was a 1969 graduate of Newcastle Public Schools.  Myrle played legion baseball for Newcastle and town-team baseball for Ponca.

He married Carol Ann Doren in May of 1970.  To this union came a daughter Marne Ann, born on July 3, 1972.  In 1979, Myrle married Charlene Shipley.  To this union came a daughter Porscha Rae, born on November 5, 1980.

Myrle worked at Iowa Beef in Dakota City, Nebraska; at Xcel in Dodge City, Kansas; and at Kelley Bean in Torrington, Wyoming.  He retired and resided in Jefferson, South Dakota.  His favorite pastimes were reading, watching sporting events, especially boxing, listening to music (primarily classic Rock and Roll, with David Bowie being his favorite singer). 

Myrle is survived by his daughters Marne Clark of Allenhurst, New Jersey and Porscha (Michael) Culbertson of Casper, Wyoming; granddaughters Mira Culbertson and Emily Culbertson; sisters Robinette Andersen of Laramie, Wyoming, Elaine Cantrell of Dakota City, Nebraska, Cherie Bauer of Spearfish, South Dakota, GeorJean Olson of South Sioux City, Nebraska, Carolyn Stanek of Valley Center, Kansas, Ivette Bender of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Pam Kettler of Dakota City, Nebraska;  brother Vet Beyeler of Newcastle, Nebraska; and numerous other extended family members.

Myrle was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Barbara Hoesing of Newcastle, Nebraska and Starr Nielsen of Sioux City, Iowa, and several brothers-in-law.
