Mylet E. Rush March 10, 1939 — September 20, 2023 Mylet Elaine (McFarlin) Rush, 84, passed away on September 20, 2023, in Richmond, VA, while surrounded by family. Mylet is survived by her children; daughter, Kelli Coggins and her husband Col. David Coggins, USMC, (Ret); son, Dan J Rush and his wife Kathleen; grandchildren, Clark, Grant, Traci, Braden, and Sydney; great grandsons Brodi, Jaxton, Nolan and Hayden, and her twin brother, Butch (Myron) McFarlin and many nieces and nephews.
Mylet was born on March 10, 1939 in Pender, Nebraska to Earl and Luella McFarlin. Upon graduating high school in 1957. She than began a career as a hairdresser. In 1986 she began working for the Equitable Financial group until her retirement. In addition, she was a representative of Mary Kay Cosmetics for many years.
She married Kenneth Rush on July 7, 1963. They gave birth to daughter Kelli in March 1964 & son Dan in June 1967.
After retirement she and Ken spent the early years of retirement traveling in their RV before settling in Gold Canyon, AZ in 2003. In 2018 Mylet relocated to Richmond Virginia for treatment of Alzheimer’s.
Mylet was loved by everyone who ever met her and she didn’t know a stranger. She had a rare quality of having friends for life like her group of “Sisters”. She loved cooking, entertaining and feeding everyone. She loved her friends and her family and would do anything for any of them. She always enjoyed traveling, boating, and dancing. Mylet loved God and believed in the power of prayer. She was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church in Richmond Virginia.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at
