Michele D. Millard

October 8, 1963 — August 29, 2024

Hubbard, Nebraksa

After a long battle with cancer, Michele D. Millard died peacefully surrounded by her family in her home in Hubbard Nebraska, August 29, 2024. A memorial visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5-7 pm with a short prayer at 7 pm at Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. A small meal will follow.

Michele was born on October 8, 1963 in Fort Smith Arkansas to Mary (Montgomery) White and Galen White. She was the mother to two boys, Seth and Shawn Hayden with her first husband.

Michele spent her working life in many areas: bartending, 18 years at CSCDC in Fort Smith, customer service at Sams Club and Quality Assurance at Sabre before cancer slowed her down.

In 2013 she met Steve Millard online and decided it was love. In March 2014, she loaded up her car, hooked it up to a u-haul and moved to Hubbard Nebraska where she became a bonus mom and grandma to Heather Millard (Ellie and Riley Wiebesiek), Andy and Melissa Millard (Garrett and Mackenzie), Casey and Caitlin (Bird) Millard (Camie, Charlotte, and Bristol), Duane and Tara Rahn (Shaelynn), and Abby Millard. She officially became a Millard on September 12, 2015 surrounded by her friends and family.

Michele loved her time spent with her family. Especially her brother Galen and Kelly White, their children, and her favorite fur friend Huck. lakeside at their cabin in Wisconsin. She could spend hours enjoying the view and peaceful naps on the patio.

Her sister DeAnna (Kevin) Neal spent many hours with her between doctor visits, caregiving and spending time together (getting on her nerves). Lots of time spent on the sofa or cuddled up in bed watching movies and tv together. DeAnna was her younger sister, saving grace, and best friend.

There are so many funny stories and little things, but she was always "fixin to", excited to see her babies, and "it is what it is". Michele could be found laughing and smiling wherever she was. She was one of the special people that could make a friend anywhere.

Michele was preceded in death by her son Seth Hayden, parents, Galen and Mary White, in-laws Marlan and Peggy Millard.
