Monday with a prayer service at 6:30 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Mike was born December 4, 1957, in Sioux City; he was the son of William and Joan (Bulzak) Jordan, Sr. Mike was a lifelong Sioux City resident of Pollack Hill. He attended St. Francis and St. Joseph Grade Schools, graduated from Heelan High School in 1976 and then attended Western Iowa Tech.
On June 11, 1977, Mike married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Sandy Sokolowski at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sioux City.
Mike was employed for 43 years at Missouri Valley Steel (MVS Metals) from January of 1977 until his retirement in March of 2020. He was a previous member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a current member of Morningside Lutheran Church. He was a prayer warrior and active in the ALPHA Program and Via De Cristo. His passionate faith and love of Jesus was an inspiration to all even in the face of his greatest adversity.
Mike’s greatest gift was giving of himself and his talents to people who needed it. He prided himself on being a family man and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had great organizational skills and always planned everything out in advance, which may have driven his family a little crazy at times, but they were an efficient team. He treated his illness with grace and humor and at times when it got to be too much he would say “Get a grip.”
Survivors include his wife Sandy Jordan of Sioux City; his son Matt Jordan (Arielle) of Sioux City; his daughter Katie Husske (Tylor) of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Emma, Jordyn and Skylar; his father William Jordan, Sr; his brother William Jordan, Jr (Susan) and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Joan Jordan and his brother Mark Jordan.
Memorials may be directed to the ALS Association Iowa Chapter or St. Croix Hospice of Sioux City.
