Born on April 18, 1966, in Harlan, Iowa, the son of Leo and Donna (Smith) Foxhoven, Michael's warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his family became the hallmark of his life.
Michael graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1984, later pursuing his passion for mechanics and earning a bachelor's degree in auto mechanic. His career was marked by hard work and steadfast commitment, as he held positions at Dean's Fleet Service, CPT, Interbake, Modlin Electric, and State Line Electric. However, it was his own business, Foxx & Hounds Electric, which he owned and operated for nearly 20 years, that truly reflected his determination and entrepreneurial spirit. As a subcontractor for Nelson Engineering, Michael built a reputation for excellence and reliability. In his leisure time, Michael found joy in spending time with his family. He had a passion for tinkering with anything mechanical, often seen working on his semi, tractors, three-wheelers, or pickups. His infectious laughter, boundless enthusiasm, and caring nature will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Family was everything to Michael. He married the love of his life, Cindy Crum-Foxhoven on November 30, 1991, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City, and together they created a home filled with love and laughter. Michael was a proud father to his three children: Jessica Arnburg (Colt Golden) of Sgt. Bluff, Michael Foxhoven Jr. (Reva Berryhill) of Newton, IA, and Nicholas Foxhoven (Ariel Carmen) of Dakota City, NE. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Devin Golden, Dayton Arnburg, Ashton Arnburg, Clayton Arnburg, Oakley Golden, Harlo Carmen-Foxhoven, Braxton Golden, Olivia Foxhoven, Mason Carmen-Foxhoven, Jaclyn Foxhoven, and his granddaughter on the way, Roxanne. He also cherished his great-granddaughter, Delilah O'Dell-Arnburg; and brother-in-law: Christopher (Lisa) Crum of Kingsley/Pierson, IA.
Michael was deeply loved by his mother, Donna Foxhoven of Dakota City, NE, and his two brothers, John (Melissa) Foxhoven of Lee's Summit, MO, and Thomas (Jayme) Foxhoven of Vermillion, SD.
He was predeceased by his father, Leo Foxhoven, parents-in-law, Donald and Mary Crum, and his precious grandson, Jaxon "Baby Jax" Foxhoven.
As we remember Michael, let us celebrate the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind, a reminder that family is indeed everything.
