Matthew S. "Matt" Miles

Matthew S. “Matt” Miles, 53, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at a local hospital. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Matt was born on March 5, 1969 in Sioux City, the son of Lowell P. Miles, Jr. and Janice E. (Stephenson) Miles.

Matt married LaDonna Deavers in Sioux City, and to this union two daughters were born. The two later divorced. On August 11, 2012 he married Lynn Lines (Slater) in Sioux City.

Matt grew up and began his career excelling in various trades industries, and was truly a “Jack of all trades.” He later finished his career as Operations Manager at the Federal Building in Sioux City.

He was a member of the Boys of ’68, as well as a member of the Sheetmetal Workers Local 3 Union.

In his spare time, Matt was a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting, riding motorbikes, and everything in between. According to his family, there was nothing he hadn’t tried. He had a knack for building things and starting projects…even if they weren’t always finished.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynn Miles; two sons: E.J. (Alicia) O’Donnell-Lines, and Cory (Tiffany) Lines; twin daughters: Toni and Tori Miles; a granddaughter, Sophia O’Donnell-Lines (plus two more on the way!); sisters: Linda (Mike) Hanson, and Judy (Kevin) Rolfes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two sons: Jordan Lines and Sean Miles; and two brothers: Jeff Miles and Pat Miles.
