MaryLou E. Sigaty, 70, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at a Sioux City hospital.Funeral services were be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 7, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, IA with Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 6, 2011, with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at the Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska.MaryLou was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 4, 1941, the daughter of Paul and Delores (Ames) Flieder. She graduated from Central High School with the class of 1958. She then attended the Ellis Beauty School. She worked a long and prosperous career in the beauty world. She owned and operated her own beauty shop at the Indian Hills Care Center for almost 30 years. Prior to opening her stop at the care center, she worked at the Smart Set Salon and Younkers Beauty Salon, and she taught at the Ellis school for a period of time. MaryLou was married to James E.King, who preceded her in death.Mary Lou was united in marriage with Carroll Sigaty on March 11, 1988 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Sioux City. They made their home in South Sioux City for more than 23 years. Together they enjoyed countless years of life's best riches in loving each other. Together they bowled in several leagues, enjoyed traveling, dancing and gardening.She was a former officer of the Eagles Club and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Mary Lou will be missed by everyone who knew her because of her big heart and willingness to help anyone in need.Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Carroll of South Sioux City; sons, Rodney King and Ronald King of Sioux City; stepson, Mark Sigaty of Kansas City, MO; her daughters, Rhonda Fowler of Sioux City, Rochelle Becker (Justin) of West Des Moines, IA; stepdaughters, Stasia Sigaty-Elgert (Dale) of Sioux City and Robin Barker of Sioux City. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Flieder of Texarkana, Texas; her two sisters, Barbara Thomas and Paula Berg of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Roxanne Twiford; and stepson, Robert Sigaty.
