Mary Ann Miller was born to William & Mary Dicus on 5-26-1936, in Sioux City, IA, and raised in Anthon, IA.  She passed away on April 21, 2024.  

A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 on Saturday April 27, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1112 8th St.  Sioux City, IA. MaryAnn has been cremated and her cremains will be buried next to her husband, Leo, immediately following the mass, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Anthon, IA. Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com

She graduated from Heelan High School in 1955, and was also Heelan’s May Queen that year.

After high school she worked at the Capital Theater in Sioux City, and then provided day care for several families.

She married Leo M. Miller on 8-24-1957, in Elk Point, SD.   To this union 5 children were born.   LeAnn Miller-Kinney (Matt Kinney), Perry Miller (Kathy), Jeana Paulson (Steve) Janet Miller, and Michael Miller.

Mary Ann also had 3 stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Pastori (Chuck), Suzanne Miller-Kerstner, and Kathie (John) James.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, who passed away in 2012, son Michael, daughter Jeana, son-in-law Steve Paulson, stepdaughter Suzanne Miller-Kerstner, grandson Jason Kinney, great grandson Elijah Kinney, and her sister and brother-in-law Irene & Ned Ray.

She is survived by 3 of her children, 2 stepdaughters, grandchildren Tricia Kinney-Anderson (Demetrius Anderson), Jeff (Alyssa) Miller, David (Chantal) Miller, and Katie Miller. Great grandchildren Jordan Kinney (Ana Monell), Rylan Kinney, Sunny & Marty Miller, great- great grandsons Devin & Hayden Kinney, and dozens of step grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Cleone Dicus.

We would like to thank Tyler and everyone else at Hospice for their amazing thoughtfulness and care of our mother.   They are truly angels on earth.
