Mary Martha Skidmore

Mary Martha Skidmore, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024 at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the age of 101.

 Mary was a lifelong resident of Sioux City, Iowa. In later years moved to Sioux Falls, SD. The daughter of Martha Flanagen and Fred White. She attended Riverside School, West Junior and Central High School.

 She worked for Sioux City Battery Company for many years and Younkers Department Store.

 She married Sidney Skidmore on March 10, 1942 in Ponca, Nebraska.

 She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church. Mary was also a member of Silver Chapter 548 Eastern Star since 1955. She was a member of the Senior Center in Sioux City and the Active Generation in Sioux Falls.

 Sid and Mary had been married 64 years before his passing August 16, 2006.

 Survivors include a daughter and her husband. Carmella (Candy) and Gerald (Butch) Wilson. A grandson Troy and Monica Wilson of Renner, SD; a granddaughter Tracey and Ben Surbeck of Boise, Idaho. Five great grandchildren; Brittany Wilson and Mark Krumveida of Renner, SD; Brooke and Andrew Mork of Colton, SD; Brendon and Mikayla Wilson of Hartford, SD; Mary and Andrew Surbeck of Boise, Idaho. She also has five great great grandchildren; Archer and Huntley Mork of Colton, SD and Wynona, Lyanna and Wyatt Wilson of Hartford, SD.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sisters, Katie Blomberg, Jane Ricard and Vera Powell. Also a brother Garry Powell.

 Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Meals on Wheels program at the Active Generation, 2300 West 46th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105
