Mary Lou (Kamradt) Rich, 93, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at a local care facility, surrounded by her loving family. She was a remarkable woman whose life was devoted to her family, her career, and her Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Glad Tidings Lighthouse, 410 E. 10th Street in South Sioux City, NE with Pastor Michael Ring officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa.
Mary was born on July 25, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Elaine (Butler) Peck. She grew up in the Westfield/Akron area with 15 brothers and sisters and attended Westfield Schools. Mary married Lloyd Kamradt, to this union, two sons (Ronald "Butch" and Michael) were born. Lloyd passed away in 1988. Mary married Robert Rich in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Mary Lou dedicated over 30 years of her life as a butcher for Zemanek Grocery Store, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. Her culinary skills were not limited to her profession; she was also celebrated as a great cook. Friends and family alike cherished her delicious meals, which were often the centerpiece of gatherings.
Mary Lou was particularly active in her church, Glad Tidings Lighthouse, where her friendly demeanor shone through in her love of handing out the bulletins and warmly greeting everyone who walked through the doors.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Mike Kamradt of Sioux City, and his two sons: Jason and Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Terry Williams of Dakota Dunes, SD her two sons: Kirk, Korey and daughter Kris. She also leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren who will fondly remember her everlasting love and guidance. Additionally, she is survived by her two sisters, Marlyn Peck and Marlys Brewer.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Kamradt and Robert Rich; her parents, Bert and Elaine Peck; her son, Ron "Butch" Kamradt; her daughter-in-law, Carol Kamradt; and thirteen siblings.
