   Mary Violet (Heaton) Luse, 69, of Grimes, IA formerly of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

   Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend Steven Pohlman officiating.  THE FAMILY REQUESTS ALL ATTENDEES TO WEAR A MASK (MASKS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE FUNERAL HOME IF NEEDED).  A joint graveside service for Mary and her husband Ken Luse will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

   Mary, the daughter of Gordon and Dorothy (Day) Heaton, was born March 27, 1951 in Ponca, NE.  Mary grew up and attended school in Sioux City graduating from Central High School.

   Mary worked in sales at Jeans Dress Shop then worked for her brother Dave at Furniture 4 Less.

   Mary was united in marriage to Ken Luse on November 4, 1994 in Elk Point, SD.  She made her home in Sioux City for many years then moved to Urbandale, IA and in recent years made her home in Grimes, IA.  Ken passed away on October 8, 2015.

   Mary enjoyed visits to her home from family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports.  She also enjoyed her daily phone calls from her brothers and sisters.

   Mary is survived by her son, Travis (Emily) Hamilton; two grandsons: Trae and Jace Hamilton; and her siblings: Ken Heaton and special friend Marilyn Garrett, Linda (Jim) Fetterman, Yvonne (Les) Padget, Ron (Debi) Heaton, Dave (Barb) Heaton and Kevin (Kathy) Heaton.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Dean and Dorothy Ann (Day) Heaton and her husband Kenneth Melvin Luse.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mary’s family and they will designate them at a later date.
