Mary was born August 2, 1944, in LeMars, Iowa. She was the third of seven children. Mary grew up in the Northwest Iowa area, graduating from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, Iowa in 1962.

Mary married Ross Everett Lilly on January 11, 1969, in Sioux City, Iowa. Ross and Mary lived in Jefferson, South Dakota where they raised their family of three children. The marriage lasted 42 years, until Ross passed away in 2011.

During that time, Mary also worked outside of the home. During her career she was employed at Siouxland Easter Seal Society for over 40 years until retirement.

Mary was lively and fun-loving. She loved meeting people and laughed quickly and easily. When not working, Mary enjoyed crafting, playing cribbage, fishing, camping, and traveling. She and Ross traveled all over the United States. Their favorite trip was a road trip to Alaska with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Doug and Nancy Lilly.

For many years she and her friend Sharon Lillie organized an annual “Deadwood Dollies” bus trip to Deadwood, South Dakota for a “Ladies only gambling weekend” with their friends. Each trip had new stories of the great time everyone had, often centering around Mary and her quick wit.

After the death of her husband, Mary went on her first cruise, traveling to Key West, Nassau, and Freeport with several family members. She made many special memories during her time at Freeport on the Catamaran.

Above all else, Mary loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many friends.

Mary is survived by her daughter Karin (Lloyd) Tevebaugh of Delware, Oklahoma; two sons Russ (Amy) Lilly of Westfield, Iowa and Charles Lilly of Jefferson, South Dakota; three sisters Susan (Eric) Anthony of Sioux City, Iowa, Ann (Jeff) Crane of Republic, Missouri, and Sandra (Mike) Spidell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a brother Gary (Donna) Rosburg of Sioux City, Iowa. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren Thomas Tevebaugh, Megan (Anthony) Plopper, Jalaena (Alex) Kelly, Holly Tevebaugh, Schuyler (Elise) Walchek, Dawson Walchek, and Morgan Walchek, David (Shannon) Lilly, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ross Lilly, parents Lyle and Lorine Rosburg, and two brothers Keith and Clyde Rosburg.
