Mary Lou Lang, 72, of South Sioux City, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, surrounded by her cherished loved ones.
A visitation will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM, both taking place at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel located at 3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51104.
Born on February 10, 1953, in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbert and Mary (MacIntosh) Church, Mary was raised in Sioux City, where she graduated from Central High School in 1971.
Known for her sweet, kind demeanor and loving spirit, Mary enjoyed a life filled with joy and creativity. She was an avid card maker and craft enthusiast, often sharing her creations with friends and family. Camping and playing cards were some of her favorite leisure activities, moments she cherished most while spending time with her husband, David, and her best friends, Terry and Yvonne.
Mary Lou's love extended to her family, which includes her devoted husband, David Lang; her sons, Nicholas (Debra) Lang of Sioux City and Joshua Lang of Wisconsin; and her grandsons, Samuel and Nathan Lang. She is also survived by her sisters, Patty Johnson of Sioux City and Sharon Johnson of Chanute, Kansas; her brother, Terry (Yvonne) Church of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Tobie.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Mary Church; her brother, Gilbert Church; her brother-in-law, Gary Johnson; and her cherished dog, Buddy. Her memory will be lovingly preserved in the hearts of those who knew her.
