Mary L. Musselman

Mary L. Musselman, 93, of Sioux City, IA passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3700 Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City, IA. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Mary was born in Sioux City to Henry and Bess (Blair) Kruger on June 28, 1929.

Mary grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School in 1947.  She married her high school sweetheart on May 10, 1947, in Omaha, NE.  They were blessed with seven children; Gary, Charlene, Wendy, Ted, Vickie, Brian and Randy.

Mary was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Joy Circle, Choir, Salt and many other groups and activities at the church.

Mary was a very hard worker.  She held positions at 75 Truck Stop and Shesler Hall but her most favorite place of employment was “lunch lady” at North High School. She just loved those kids.  Mary was a mother to many, friend to more and an enemy to none.  

Mary is survived by her children; Charlene (Tom) Peterson of LeMars, IA, Brian (Christine) Musselman of Akron, IA, Wendy (Rick) Oldenkamp, Ted (Mary) Musselman, Vickie (John) Staiert, Randy Musselman all of Sioux City, IA. Daughter-in-law Vicki Musselman Evens, of Midlothian, IL.  22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way this summer and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn, in 2007, her son Gary, in 2019 and her great grandson, Austin, in 2014.

In lieu of flowers Mary has asked donations be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.
