Obituary

Marvin Cyril Trudeau, 89 of Dakota Dunes, SD. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father. He passed away peacefully after a long illness on May 19, 2026.

Marvin was born on March 22nd, 1937 in Jefferson, SD to Cyril and Marie (LaCroix) Trudeau. He graduated from Jefferson H.S. in 1955. Following graduation he joined the Navy and served on the USS Crook County LST-6ll. He returned home and married Carolyn Jean Christiansen on April 18, 1959.

Marvin began his career as an Air Technician with the 185th Air National Guard in 196l. He retired April 1992 after 36 years of military service as Chief Master Sergeant. During this period, he served in the US Air Force from 1968-1969 in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn, three daughters Terri Lortz of Grimes, IA, Pam (Jim) Hagenbucher of Urbandale, IA, Shelly (Jim) Anderson of Dakota Dunes, SD, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, sister Louann Milbrandt of Springfield, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Marie Trudeau, his sister, Darlene Carlson and great grandson, Joseph Keating.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Dakota Dunes, SD with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Services.
