Marvin DuWane Percell, 90, of Sioux City, passed away on July 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior. Burial with Military Honors will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marvin was born on February 15, 1935, in Falls City, Nebraska. A proud veteran, Marvin entered the United States Army after completing his education at Falls City High School. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and purpose that defined many aspects of his life, including his involvement as a member of the Abu Bekr Foot Patrol and a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. Marvin married Maxine Walke on July 20, 1958 in Sioux City.
Marvin dedicated a significant part of his life to the real estate industry, proudly owning and operating Sooland Realty, where he served as both a contractor and real estate broker. His commitment to his profession and clients reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to the community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Marvin was a passionate outdoorsman, enjoying hobbies such as hunting and fishing. He was also an avid supporter of the Nebraska Huskers, demonstrating a deep-rooted pride for his home state and its traditions.
Marvin is survived by his devoted wife, Maxine Percell, and their children: Craig (Jodee) Percell of Sioux City, Kim (Ron) Kerkhoff of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin, and Karen (Brian) Ulven of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and his brother, George Percell of Eagan, Minnesota.
Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, parents-in-law, and numerous siblings.
