Mark Allen Bailey, 58 of Colton, South Dakota, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at his home, comforted by family after a long-term neurological disease.  Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ponca, Nebraska with Father Owen Korte officiating.  Burial will follow at South Creek Calvary Cemetery in rural Ponca.  Visitation, with family present, will be one hour prior to services at the church Friday morning.  Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com  Mohr Funeral Home of Ponca is assisting the family.

Mark was born on August 8, 1965 in Sioux City, Iowa to Richard “Dick” and Georjean (Gates) Bailey.  He married Therese Sullivan on March 4, 2000 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ponca, Nebraska.  Mark and Therese owned Stonegate Property Inspections from 2001 until 2019, when Mark’s health started to decline. 

Some of Mark’s favorite hobbies include camping in the mountains with Therese and his faithful dog, Abbey, construction, building projects, reading, and spending time outdoors enjoying nature. 

Mark is survived by his wife Therese Bailey of Colton, South Dakota; sister Barbara Hoffman of Sioux City and her children Chaz of Kansas City, and Mikkala of Sioux City; Therese’s parents Nick and Patty Sullivan; Therese’s siblings and families, Chris (Randy) Collins, Samantha, and Sierra; Nick (Kristina) Sullivan, Ali and Lauren; Suzanne (Chip) Young, Nicole (Sean) Jones, and Zoey; Elizabeth (Ryan) Dohma, Lily, and Julia.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
