Marissa E. Cavazos, 25, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Marissa was born on July 27, 1998 in Sioux City. She was a Sioux City resident throughout her life, attending Irving Elementary School and graduating from North High school in 2016.
She was and outgoing and hard-working woman, a firecracker to all who knew her, and was incredibly silly with a great sense of humor. In her free time, Marissa enjoyed practicing her hair and makeup skills, traveling (some of her best times were spent on trips with her family) and taking photos with her daughter. There was nothing in this world Marissa loved more than her daughter; her daughter was her everything.
Marissa went above and beyond for the people she loved, and her love was indescribable. She was a wonderful listener who took action whenever her friends or family needed her.
Marissa is survived by her mother, Carmela “Carmen” Sanchez-Garcia; her father, Victor Cavazos; her father-figure, Henry Aguirre; her daughter, Yoselin Cavazos; her partner, Daniel Marin; sisters: Sylvia Cavazos, Jisela Aguirre, and Elsa Aguirre; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Linda Burrell; sister, Justina Murguia; and an uncle, Edgar Cavazos.
