Marian Virginia (Redden) Perry of Lincoln, NE (formerly Sioux City, IA) passed away Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 in Lincoln. A mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lincoln with rosary one-hour prior. Visitation will be 4:00PM – 6:00PM on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home in Lincoln. A visitation will take place at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City, IA on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM. Abiding by her wish, her and Bud will be laid to rest together immediately following the visitation on Saturday, at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Butherus, Maser & Love in Lincoln and Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Marian was born on June 4th, 1926 to Clifford and Mary Elizabeth (Flinn) Redden in Sioux City. She was the older sister of Michael Redden. She attended school in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. She married Lester Edgar Perry (Bud) and to this union two children were born, Robert James and Patrick Brion.

Marian worked several years for the Sioux City Community School District as a cook. She enjoyed traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and spent time volunteering for the D.A.V. and the Girls of ’68 in Sioux City. Her and Bud frequently vacationed in Missouri and Oklahoma. They also attended annual reunions for the 81st Infantry Wildcats Division where she met many wonderful friends. Marian and Bud enjoyed playing cards with friends and loved ballroom dancing.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Michael (Lynn) Redden of Sioux City, a son Patrick (Patricia) Perry of Lincoln, grandchildren Eric Perry, Ryan (Trena) Perry, Amber Kuehl, Erin (Chad) Carter, Brion (Casie) Perry, and Patrick Perry.

She has been graciously received in death by her parents, her husband Bud, her son Robert, her granddaughter Shannon, her grandson Shaun, and a great-grandson Samuel. Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
