Marian Agnes Bennett

Marian Agnes Bennet, 81 of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Kingsley Specialty Care, Kingsley, Iowa.  Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Morningside Bible Church in Sioux City.  Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel has assisted the family.

Marian was born on January 10, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa to Martin J. and Orise (LaFleur) Desmond.  She received her education in the Sioux City Public School System, graduating from Central High School.  Marian married Cecil D. Harrison on July 6, 1964 in Sioux City. 

Marian worked for Northwestern Bell Phone Company as an operator before joining the phone book department.  She retired as a tracer with the phone company after working over 30 years.  She worked other odd jobs, mostly part time, until she was well into her 60’s before retiring altogether.  Her husband Cecil passed away in 2003, and she married Robert “Bob” Bennett, who passed away in 2019. 

Marian enjoyed her membership at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City, and was a life-long resident of Siouxland.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and person.  Marian would help anyone and give whatever she had.  We’ll all miss her!

Marian is survived by her son Doug (Janice) Harrison of South Sioux City, Nebraska and son Bruce (Angie) Harrison of Sioux City, Iowa; grandsons Adam Harrison of Sioux City, Daniel (Miranda) Harrison of Walthill, Nebraska, granddaughters Makayla (Antonio) Lopez of Sioux City, and McKenzie Harrison of Sioux City; and sister Elaine Holzer of Rockaway Beach, Oregon.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son Dale Harrison, daughter Cindy Hair, 9 siblings from Illinois to California, and several nieces and nephews.
