Margie J. Long

Margie J. Long, 75 of South Sioux City, passed away quietly at home Saturday, March 9, 2024 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Margie was born the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (McGraw) Karr, Sr. on December 29, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Leeds and lived there until she met and married Jerry Langley. They made their home on a farm outside of Westfield where they raised their three troublemaker children. They later divorced. She married Dale Long a few years later in 1988. They ran a grocery store, R-Way in Westfield for over 20 years until Dale passed away. She then moved to Sergeant Bluff and worked various retail jobs until her retirement. 

Margie made several friends throughout the years and was a very loved lady. Her favorite activity was being an active member of The Life Center. She loved the members there. She will be greatly missed by all.

Margie is survived by her children, Lori (Nathan) Bray, Rick Langley, and Dennis (Clairissa) Langley; brothers, Dennis (Mary) Karr and Mike (Pam) Karr; grandchildren, Heather Adams, Zach Langley, Bradie Langley, and Christopher Abbey; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; siblings, Judith Cameron, Paul Karr, Jr., James Karr, and Jerry Karr.
