Margie was born the daughter of Michael and Mary (Louge) Thompson on August 28, 1933 in Center, Nebraska. She was raised on the family farm in rural Creighton, Nebraska. She graduated from Plainview Creighton High School. Margie married Wilfred “Bill” Hinrichsen on September 12, 1951 in Creighton, Nebraska. They were blessed with six children and enjoyed 60 years together.

Margie stayed at home to raise her large family. After the kids were in school, she went back to school at Westmar University and completed her nursing degree. She was very proud to go to work as a nurse and she became a lifelong caregiver to many.

Margie enjoyed keeping in touch with her large family, especially her sisters. She spent winters in Texas with Bill, along with her sister, Claire and Claire’s husband Darrell. Margaret looked forward to a sisters’ weekend each year where all the sisters would get together, and spend most of the weekend laughing and sharing stories. In her later years she enjoyed visits from the grandchildren and great grandchildren and bird watching.

Margie was a devout Catholic. She was a longtime member of Nativity Church and a day never went by without praying the rosary.

Margie is survived by her children, Chuck (Jackie) Hinrichsen of Holister, MO; Mary Pride of Spearfish, SD; Beth (Scott) Hedrick of Highland Ranch, CO; Tim Hinrichsen of Ames, IA; Patrick (Renae) Hinrichsen of Sioux City; and Carrie Nealon of Lakewood, CO; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Claire Hoffmann, Jean Toth, Rose Grubbs, Charlie Thompson, and Pat Nanfito; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and siblings, George, Phil, and Georgia.
