Peggy, born July 26, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, was a cherished daughter of Clarence W. and Leona F. Buck. She grew up attending United Methodist Church and graduated from Central High School in 1967. On October 2, 1970, Peggy married the love of her life, Alvin Bush, beginning a journey together that was defined by devotion, laughter, and family.
Together, Peggy and Alvin had four children. For many years, Peggy dedicated herself to being a homemaker, raising her children with warmth and care. She was deeply involved in her children’s lives, participating in PTA and school activities, attending Bethany Lutheran Church with her children, as well as reading countless books and working on puzzles with family. Her children’s most cherished memories are baking her famous fudge or chocolate mayonnaise cake in the kitchen with their mom. Later, Peggy worked in the medical setting, retiring as a transcriptionist at St. Luke’s. Yet, her most important and rewarding role was being a mother and grandmother.
As her family grew, she created more traditions that became treasured memories: grandkids’ New Years’ Eve celebrations, Easter egg hunts, movie nights with Grandma, board games and card games, homemade hot chocolate or root beer floats, and so much more. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever remember her joy in celebrating their milestones, her listening ear, and her gentle advice.
Peggy’s legacy lives on in her husband, Alvin; her children: Melissa (Jeremie) Bush, Joshua (Stacey) Bush, Melinna Potter, and Michelle (Mark) Hahn; her grandchildren: Tyler (Lauren), Savannah (Luke), Rylee (Paige), Alex, Ethan, Emma (Jayce), Porter; and her great-grandchildren Kataleya, Jackson, Ruby, Avery, Eleanor, Callum, Sophie, and eagerly awaited Great-Grandbaby #8. Peggy is now reunited in heaven with those family who pre-ceded her in death, her parents Leona and Clarence, her grandson Gavin, nephew Jason, and other cherished loved ones.
Her life was a testament to love, family, and faith. Peggy gave generously of her time, her heart, and her wisdom, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
