Marcine C. Guenther, age 96, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. Marcine was born on September 28, 1929. She most recently resided at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, Iowa.

Marcine attended school in Oto, Iowa. Her first marriage was to Earl Miller, and they shared 28 years together before his passing in January 1987. She later married Joseph A. Guenther on May 1, 1993. They shared many wonderful years together until Joseph’s passing on August 24, 2011.

Marcine worked at Briar Cliff University from 1965 until her retirement in 1993. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed flowers, golfing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Marcine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Guenther; her first husband, Earl Miller; her daughter, Charlotte Lee Mulheron (Weavill); her parents, Lewis “Lou” and Ollie Collins (Morhauser); and her siblings: Donald “Duke” Collins, Norman “Stub” Collins, Maurice “Pete” Collins, Bill “Gus” Collins, and Phillip “Dutch” Collins.

She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Hutchinson of Sioux City, Iowa; step-son, Ralph Guenther of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa; sister, Mary Ann “Toots” Ashby of Little Falls, Minnesota; grandchildren: Robert (Kim) Hutchinson of Omaha, Nebraska, Marcy Hutchinson of Sioux City, Iowa, Cherice (Chad) Greenway of Omaha, Nebraska, Heath (Georgette) Weavill of Hill City, South Dakota, Chrissy Fennel of Mitchell, South Dakota, Colleen (Sion) Mette of Parkston, South Dakota, Katie (Matt) Bushbach of Mitchell, South Dakota; along with many great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Marcine will be remembered for her love of family, her caring heart, and the many memories she created with those who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

A visitation to honor Marcine’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel (3220 Stone Park Blvd.) in Sioux City. Family will greet friends starting at 5 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church (703 W. 5th St.) in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Following services at the cemetery, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Meyer Brothers Reception Room (6200 Morningside Ave.) in Sioux City.
