Luis Fernando Márquez, 60, a resident of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, while in Laredo, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City, with Father David Esquiliano officiating. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation will follow, and the interment of his ashes will take place at a later date.

Visitation, attended by the family, will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

He was born on October 2, 1965, in San Julián, Jalisco, Mexico. He was a kind and charitable man, and a Catholic of steadfast faith. He was distinguished by his good heart, his optimism, and his good humor. His greatest love and pride was his family, whom he cared for and stood by always.

He is survived by his wife, Rosi; his children, Karen, Luis, Omar, Diego, and Christian; his beloved grandson, Eden; his mother, Martimiana Márquez; and his siblings, Juan, Alejandra, Pepe, Chuy, and Lupita.

He will be remembered forever, for in addition to being an excellent husband, father, son, and brother, he was a great friend. Farewell, Luis.

La Misa de Exequias se celebrará el lunes 4 de mayo de 2026 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Catedral de la Epifanía en Sioux City, con el Padre David Esquiliano como celebrante.
