Lorren L. Bjornsen

Sioux City

Lorren L. Bjornsen, 80 of Sioux City passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lorren was born the son of Carroll and Ardis (Mellor) Bjornsen on October 29, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Central High School in 1962. Lorren honorably served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He completed aviation electronics training and had many fond memories aboard the USS Constellation. Lorren married Carol Rask on April 16, 1976. They made their home in Sioux City.

Lorren held many jobs throughout his life. He owned and operated BJ’s TV Repair and R&B Motors. He also proudly worked for Boeing and most recently was employed with CNOS where he worked until the time of his retirement.

In his younger years he enjoyed camping, bowling, and water skiing. He had a passion for restoring old cars and had just finished restoring a 1953 Chevy pickup truck for a close friend. He could always be found hanging out in his garage tinkering on something.

He was a lifelong member and the former President of the congregation at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Lorren is survived by his wife, Carol Bjornsen of Sioux City; children, Vicki (Mike) Bertrand of Sioux City, IA, Mike (Tina) Kuehl of Queen Creek, AZ, Stefani Bjornsen of Everett, WA, Scott (Angela) Bjornsen of Marysville, WA, and Holly (Evan) Klein of Sioux City, IA; siblings, Gary (Judy) Bjornsen, Sharon Bjornsen, and Sheila (Bob) Kounkel; grandchildren, Lauryn, Austin, Bailey, Gavin, Abby, Spencer, Conner, Parker, Reislyn, Keagan, Karsyn, and Cash; and great-grandchildren, Zaydan and Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Woody Rask, and his son-in-law, Thomas Norton.
