It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lori Ann Wardrip, age 56, who peacefully departed this life on September 21, 2024, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 12, 1968, in Sioux City, IA, Lori was the beloved daughter of John and Patti Jo (Harsma) Duckson of Hubbard, NE. Lori will be remembered for her immense love for life, family, and friends, and for her ability to make even the greatest distances feel smaller through the depth of her care and compassion for others.
Lori was a devoted wife to Wade D. Wardrip, whom she married on November 8, 1985, in Aurora, CO. Together, they traveled and lived across the United States—including California, Colorado, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Nebraska—and abroad in England and Germany. In each place, they made countless memories, shared adventures, and built lifelong friendships.
Family was always the heart of Lori's world. She and Wade had three sons; Brandon, Brent, and Benjamin. Lori took great pride in being a 'boy mom,' always eager to share stories of their lives. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, brother, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, two brothers-in-law, and her mother and father-in-law. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and treasured memories with her husband, Wade Wardrip of Eufaula, OK; her three sons,
Brandon Wardrip of Kingsport, TN, Brent Wardrip of Mountain Home Air Force Base, ID, and Benjamin Wardrip, along with his wife Brittany, of Mooresville, NC; her loving mother Patti Portis of Cibolo, TX; her sister Sheila, also of Cibolo, TX; 14 grandchildren across OK, FL, NC, and WV; 8 nieces and nephews in IA, CO and TX; and numerous extended family members and dear friends across the country and the world.
