Loel Joseph Hayden

Loel Joseph Hayden was born during a blizzard on February 18, 1954 to E.J. and Jeannette Hayden. He grew up in Kimball, Nebraska participating in band and excelling in many sports. He went to Augustana College in Sioux Falls where he met Melody Schneider. They married on August 10, 1974 and were blessed with four children, Charisma (Raymond Wood), Adam (Cara), Zachary (Alyssa), and Cody.

Loel was a contractor salesman, and the family lived in various locations before settling in Sioux City, Iowa.

Loel enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, barbecuing, and storytelling. He was our oak!

He has 11 grandchildren and a brother, Lynn (Pam) of Kimball, Nebraska.

Loel lost his battle with cancer on March 7, 2025. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. May Loel soar with the eagles and keep on exploring!

A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21st with a service at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Park Shelter #4 in Sioux City, Iowa.
