Lloyd J. Schonrock Jr.

Lloyd J. Schonrock Jr., 70, of Smithland, IA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 27, 2023.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, IA with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023, at the funeral home.

Lloyd, the son of Lloyd J. Sr. and Betty (Ouellette) Schonrock, was born December 20, 1952, in Sioux City, IA. He grew up and attended school in Sioux City. While in high school, he moved to the Des Moines area and lived with his cousin and graduated from Johnston High School. Following high school, he worked with his cousin doing drywall work. For several years, Lloyd operated his own floor covering installation business. For the past two years, he drove bus for the Sioux City Community Schools. Throughout the years, Lloyd enjoyed music and reading.

Lloyd married Eileen K. King on March 8, 1994, in Elk Point, SD. They lived in Sioux City and in recent years have made their home in Smithland.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Eileen of Smithland; three daughters: Rachel Schonrock of Ft. Pierce, FL, Dusti (Tom) Harling of Henderson, NV, and Nicole (Aaron) Wingert of Bronson, IA; seven grandchildren: Chris (Millie), Nathaniel (Julia), Brooklyn, Trae (Lexi), Joshua, Abigail, and Wyatt; two great grandchildren: Mason and Aden; two sisters: Ruth Craig and Christine Schonrock both of Sioux City; and one sister-in-law, Cherie Schonrock of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Roger, Duane, and Larry; and one sister, Linda Durant.
